Experts to Demystify the Funding Process at XpoNorth Webinar

Raising additional investment whilst growing a business is an essential skill for any entrepreneur - from outside investors to commercial partners, banks and local authorities, in the current climate, the funding mix has to be more diverse than ever. Having a well thought out business plan can make all the difference - encouraging objective thinking, providing the necessary information and ultimately better shaping and informing decision making for long term sustainability.

Those who have sought Scottish Edge funding and successfully got through the various rounds will know the Dragons Den style pitching can be a daunting process and the more prepared you are the better the chance of success! In this session, we bring together a range of experienced perspectives to offer helpful insights into how best to plan and prepare for funding and discuss what investors are really looking for.

Highlighting practical examples and breaking down the processes, this interactive workshop will offer attendees a valuable opportunity to hear from Steven Hamill, Chief Operating Officer for Scottish Edge, Alistair Murray, who has supported businesses through their growth plans and Scottish Edge winner, Hannah Taylor of Gut Feelings Kombucha.

The session will be chaired by XpoNorth Fashion, Craft & Textiles Specialist and Ava Innes Founder, Joan Johnston. This session is delivered as part of our ongoing Fearless series.

In our second webinar XpoNorth on Building a Sustainable Business, Friday 28th October 11-12, we hear from three inspiring women who have founded sustainable textile businesses in Scotland. Ava Innes Founder, Joan Johnston talks to Jessica Giannotti of Crùbag inspired by marine science printing on sustainable materials; Clare Campbell of Prickly Thistle Scotland Ltd passionate about tartan and in their final stages of B Corps Certification along with Izzie EriksenApparelXchange extending the life of clothing in Glasgow.
