Links House at Royal Dornoch: A wellness escape with Ava Innes in the Scottish Highlands

The five-star Links House at Royal Dornoch has announced a new partnership with Ava Innes to offer guests one of the UK’s most luxurious escape stays centred on sleep, textures, and tranquility.

Inspired by nature with a focus on warmth, comfort, texture and wellbeing, the ‘Texture & Tranquillity’ weekend, 3 - 4 April 2026, has been intentionally curated by the hotel’s hospitality experts, with input from Ava Innes to help people achieve the ultimate luxury – deep, restorative sleep.

Located just one hour north of Inverness, Links House has the UK’s most northerly Michelin Key and was recently crowned one of the top 50 boutique hotels in the country.

A limited edition stay this spring as part of the hotel's curated Five Senses series, guests will be invited to sleep under cashmere in idyllic Dornoch – near a stretch of breathtaking Highlands coastline – where the sea rests beyond your window.

Guests can expect opportunities to digitally log-off and engage with the exquisite surroundings at Links House, guided gently and consciously by a dedicated team and unexpected moments that invite rest and connection. The stay includes a bespoke pillow menu, gentle breathing exercises, digital detox options, and a creative natural fibre weaving workshop that emphasises the power of touch and tactile craft with materials of authenticity.

Early risers can also feel the sand between their toes with an optional ‘Golden Hour’ Saturday sunrise walk on Dornoch Beach near the hotel, intended to start the day with awe and light.

The luxury of pure cashmere sleep accessories will be gifted in each room, tokens of the ‘TOUCH’ theme.

Created by Links House head chef, Theo Creton’s carefully crafted menu will feature the finest local produce with a focus on seasonal creations, as well as a sleep-inducing cherry cocktail to induce deep restorative sleep. A group dinner will also be staged in the hotel’s fine dining restaurant, MARA, which has two AA rosettes for culinary excellence.

The all-inclusive ‘Texture & Tranquillity’ weekend will be co-hosted by Joan Johnston, the founder of Ava Innes. Living and working between the sea and mountains, the extraordinary natural Scottish landscape is a constant influence on Joan’s desire to live better, to work with nature, and support traditional craftsmanship here in the UK.

Joan Johnston, founder of Ava Innes, said: “Sleep is the ultimate luxury we all strive for. This is a wellness stay with deep intention, crafted with absolute reverence for the value of sleep. We are delighted to bring our natural approach to deep rest and carefully chosen natural fibres for the home with the warmth and exceptional hospitality Links House is renowned for, drawing upon the sea and land that surrounds it.”

The ‘Texture & Tranquillity’ weekend is the second in a series of sensory weekends at Links House being rolled out at Links House during 2026. Designed to awaken the five senses – Taste, Touch, Scent, Sight and Sound, the all-inclusive weekend series offers intimate and immersive guest experiences – brought to life through a carefully chosen collaboration between food, craft, storytelling and indulgent relaxation.
